connecting people + plants

There is an intrinsic connection between our personal health, societal health, and the health of the planet.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We reside and work on the traditional territories of the Lkwungen (Esquimalt and Songhees), Malahat, Pacheedaht, Scia’new, T’Sou-ke and W̱SÁNEĆ (Pauquachin, Tsartlip, Tsawout, Tseycum) peoples. We recognize that we are guests on these lands. We vow to continue to educate ourselves, and are committed to strengthening and building relationships with Indigenous communities and to tangible actions toward reconciliation.

Our values

Accessible and sustainable nutrition and herbalism

Our Actions: Physical and digital access to services, sliding scale pricing, donations to local initiatives, environmental and cost conscious meal recommendations, following strict harvesting protocol, using regenerative growing practices, and more.

Ancestral and cultural connections

Our Actions: Encouraging connection to your own cultural foods and traditions, including cultural foods in meal plans, exploring other cultural foods together, and honouring ancestral medicines.

Acknowledging modern science and traditional knowledge

Our Actions: Well-rounded advice using up-to-date research and traditional ways of knowing. Scientific discoveries in nutrition and herbal medicine are constantly evolving. Many dietary recommendations and herbal remedies have been thoroughly studied and proven, and while others may have not, they have been successfully used in some cultures for more than tens of thousands of years.

True holistic health: care for ourselves, our communities, for the earth, for all

Our Actions: Recognizing and fighting barriers to wellness, volunteering with local environmental initiatives, fighting for food security and sovereignty, practicing regenerative growing practices, supporting local farms and other businesses.

We’re committed to ongoing learning and expanding upon our values as we continue to grow.

Herbalism

Our Herbalism practice is based in reciprocity and relationship with plant kin, with the land, and with each other - it’s all connected.

Botanicals are created in small batches with intention and care. All herbs used are grown and locally sourced by Racheal using environmentally sustainable practices and harvested with the utmost respect by adhering to a strict code of ethics. We never work with endangered or at risk species. You can see, smell, and taste, and feel the quality and care.

Herbs have many suitable applications, but for more complex circumstances, we recommend working with a Medical Herbalist with clinical training.
